What does PSX Money Flow show?

Where today's traded money went on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Each sector's bar is the net money that moved in (green) or out (red) of its shares. The green box lists the shares with the biggest net inflows and the red box the biggest outflows, and the particles run between them: green from a sector into a share, red from a share back out. The line below is the whole market's net flow through the session, and the bubbles are the shares moving the most money per minute right now.

How is money flow worked out?

From public prices and volumes, not from broker records. Once a minute we read every share's price and the volume traded so far from the PSX Data Portal. Shares that traded while the price rose count as money in, and shares that traded while it fell count as money out (the tick rule). Before the minute-by-minute record of a session exists, the board shows the last full session from its daily prices: traded value times where the share closed in its day's range (Chaikin's close location). Both are estimates, which is why the page says 'net flow' and not 'buyers' and 'sellers'.

What do the headline and the surge mean?

The headline names the two sectors drawing the most money and the two losing the most, then breadth (how many shares have net money in against out), the market's net flow and the surge: the share with the biggest flow per minute over the last 5 minutes. A surge in a share that is already moving often comes with news or a big order.

During PSX market hours, Monday to Thursday 09:15 to 15:50 and Friday 09:00 to 16:35 Pakistan time, once a minute; the page refreshes every 30 seconds. Outside those hours it shows the last session.

Is money flow a buy or sell signal?

No. It shows where money went today, for learning how the market moves. Heavy inflow into a share that has already risen does not mean it will keep rising. It is not investment advice; do your own research or speak to a licensed adviser.
